Clearing Your Cavities

Cavity wall extraction is a quality service that removes existing damp and/or deteriorated old bead, fibre or foam insulation from the cavities between two walls… typically brick is on the outer wall and block or brick is on the inside wall.

After many years the original insulation may have degraded or become damp, so it is no longer effective. The extraction process does involve drilling holes (often where the insulation was originally injected) and removing a few bricks.

Extraction Specialists

Good Reasons for Cavity Wall Extraction:

Deteriorated Insulation:
Insulation materials settle and even can break down, so they lose the effectiveness or create cold patches that attract warm air and could become damp due to moisture build-up, which in turn is an issue.
Health Concerns:
Mould can form as a result of the moisture created on cold walls when the insulation fails, and this may lead to health problems. From October 2025, landlords can be forced to investigate and remedy any dangerous damp and/or mould and repair all emergency hazards within 24 hours.
Ineffective Insulation:
Old, incorrectly installed or damaged insulation may not be providing adequate thermal performance, leading to higher energy bills, so fixing the issue can save you money, so it makes sense to
Remediation:
Removal of material from within the cavities may be necessary as part of a renovation or repair project, especially when walls are removed, which could lead to the release of messy detritus in to the environment.
Upgrade:
If you are planning on upgrading to a more technically advance or efficient insulation material, the old insulation will need to be removed as manufacturers guarantees specify this specific requirement.

TESTIMONIALS

“Proper happy with the job AC4S Extraction Services came out and did for us last week. Our house had been smelling feeling damp and cold with mould forming in a few of our rooms. Now we can see and smell the difference already.”
